The beautiful and historic Clifton Pavilion is set in the award-winning botanical gardens of Bristol Zoo, making it one of the most unique wedding venues in Bristol, if not the whole south-west.

With its high vaulted ceiling, art deco features, grand ballroom and stunning chandeliers, it really does offer a breathtaking backdrop for your wedding day.

Our exhibitors love this venue as the rooms are beautifully proportioned, the light is wonderful and it's the perfect venue to show off what they do. 

The Clifton Pavilion has a licence to perform wedding ceremonies and civil partnerships so you can hold your ceremony here as well as celebrate afterwards.

BOOTH 19 - FABULOUS ART DECO PHOTO BOOTHS !

I was intrigued when Sam from Booth 19 first got in touch.  He promised me a truly art deco style photo booth and then he sent me this photo, which immediately had me hooked!

Booth 19 supply beautiful vintage photo booths for weddings and events throughout the UK.  The booths themselves are a thing of beauty - designed to be reminiscent of the early 1900's Art Deco era, crafted from  carefully selected hardwood and finished with authentic vintage features.  Behind this stylish exterior hides a DSLR camera and photographic printer, instantly producing high quality digital photos. 

A range of backdrops can be provided to suit your venue and the booths come with an attendant for the whole of your event.  The open concept of the booth means that it's great for both close-ups and family size shots and there are no size limitations when it comes to group shots.

These vintage photo booths are a great crowd pleaser and a fantastic way to get your guests mingling and enjoying themselves and to get photos of people together who may never get to meet again.

There are some great extra touches offered by Booth 19, including a guestbook for friends and relatives to leave messages with a photo of their choice and props to use with the booth. At the end of the day you will be presented with a USB stick with all the images from the event, giving you the opportunity to create a beautiful leather bound photo album from your favourite photos.  Booth 19 also operate an event film service with a videography team capturing the magic of your wedding day and turning it into a beautiful short film.

DAYS OF GRACE VINTAGE - VINTAGE STYLE HEIRLOOM WEDDING DRESSES

Days of Grace Vintage is where you'll find beautiful one-off vintage-style wedding dresses and accessories.

Owner and designer, Linda Duriez continues to have one of the largest collections of original Edwardian gowns in fine lawns and laces that work perfectly with fresh flowers and vintage styling.

So on 21st September at The Daffodil, you'll find unique lace gowns sharing rail space with original period pieces, fine tulle veils and gorgeous accessories. She'll also be bringing along a 1920s beaded collection for the bride that's a great alternative, especially for second weddings, and they seem to fit and suit all sizes.

There will also be a few (and very select) vintage-inspired dresses from designers Linda favours. And as there's often only one of each style available, you'll still get that exclusive look.

For headwear there'll be stunning art deco style side headbands in sparkling crystal and diamanté and a boho range using shells, flowers, feathers and buttons (completely new for The Daffodil!).

When it comes to the veils, lots of the finest are beautifully transparent and often embellished with lace and beadwork in the softest creams. But even if you don't fancy a veil, Linda has all manner of unique accessories available from her archives.

Lily and Louie

Bristol Vintage is excited to welcome… Lily and Louie.

Lily and Louie create bespoke wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses and headdresses. 

Inspired by many eras their styles tend to be vintage and often quirky, from tea-length silk dresses with fluffy, coloured petticoats, to elegant art deco inspired draped dresses.

They also make headdresses and veils to complement your look, with birdcage veils for the shorter 1950’s dresses, rose garlands for a country themed wedding and long silk tulle veils for those romantic, flowing lace dresses.

These bespoke dresses and accessories are made by designer Jayne Miller. 

She's currently based in London, so you can arrange an appointment by emailing studio@lilyandlouie.com. But good news for brides in the South West! Lily and Louie will be moving to Devon before the end of 2013 and the move will give them more space to display more dresses and accessories.

Come the New Year Lily and Louie will start designing a new vintage-inspired range.

This gorgeous range will see the addition of some flowing 1930’s inspired lace dresses and a couple of shorter dresses - perfect for the more informal wedding. Samples of the new designs will be ready for display around spring 2014.

Moomie Swan

Bristol Vintage are delighted to present the artist behind our all new 2014 wedding fair poster… Moomie Swan.

Bristol Vintage's Ali Cook says: "I'd seen Moomie's artwork before and loved it and I just felt she had a great style.  I knew I wanted a romantic flowing feel for this year's poster and I was so thrilled when she sent me her first sketches as it was exactly the style I'd had in my head". 

Moomie was really excited when we asked her to create our poster: "I'm a big fan of vintage fashion and early 20th century illustration styles and I knew this would be the perfect project to incorporate both these influences."

Choosing to go with a 20's feel for the drawing and art deco inspired text, Moomie said, "as it's a wedding fair, I really wanted to capture a sense of joy and excitement." She experimented with some sketches of a couple dancing, but eventually settled on the groom lifting up the bride to throw her bouquet as it seemed the most iconic symbol of newly wed joy.

As well as designing posters and cards, Moomie makes beautiful origami decorations which she sells at craft fairs... 

…and illustrates books. She's currently preparing for Christmas, but you can find out more on her blog and don't forget to pop back here soon for the 2014 poster reveal!

Heavenly Vintage

Helena of Heavenly Vintage has around 60 to 70 beautiful vintage dresses, ranging from the 1930's to 1970's at her home in West London.  We’re delighted that she’s going to take us through just some of her gorgeous collection. Of course, if you want to see Heavenly Vintage’s collection up close, you’ll want to visit our Fair this Sunday, March 10^th at the Clifton Pavilion.

This first dress is from the early 1960's. It’s silk with French lace appliques, would be priced at around £1000, and showcases a beautiful headpiece by Abby at Cherished.

  

  

This second dress is from Helena’s new Heavenly Collection; a vintage reproduction range of dresses available in modern sizes from the website. Helena had the pattern specially made - it was copied from a 1930's lace dress and the intricate cutting has been preserved in the new dress to get the soft sexy feel of the best 1930's dresses. The lace is an old-fashioned style of lace called 'English Net', made for Helena by a family who’ve been lace makers for three generations! The slightly deeper slip underneath shows off the pattern of embroidery on the fabric and the slip can be made in ivory, champagne, the pale dusky pink as seen here, or any other colour that works with the style. This dress would cost around £1250, and is made to order. All the headpieces are by Abby at Cherished.  

  

Below is another vintage dress from Heavenly Vintage, with a very fitted 'Mad Men' feel to it, in a shade of soft pale gold. It’s original vintage, and would be priced at around £1000. The wonderful headband is again by Abby at Cherished – she and Heavenly Vintage did a joint shoot as their styles suit each other brilliantly (Abby is also one of Helena’s favourite people in the Vintage Bridal business!)

  

This lovely silk satin dress below is another example of the range of styles Heavenly Vintage has to offer in their own Heavenly Collection. It’s copied from a 1930's wedding dress and has a slinky fitted look typical of the bias cut dresses of that era. Helena loves the complex bias cutting of the dresses of the Art Deco period, and has tried to keep it as faithful to the original as possible, so that it hugs the body but in a gentle figure-flattering way. The headpiece uses an original 1930's dress embellishment and vintage beads - the perfect foil for the subtle glamour of the dress. Again, the headpiece is designed by Abby at Cherished.

  

This last dress is a sweet wispy lace 1970's dress, an original vintage rather than a copy. Helena always looks for these romantic soft dresses on her travels. The 70's offer a soft Boho feel, which is very pretty and floaty; the fashion influences at play in that decade ranged from Edwardian to 1930's. An original vintage dress like this one would be around £800. Helena is also working on a copy of this lovely little dress for her own Collection and will be adding styles as she continues to develop the range - this one is planned for the Summer. The pretty beaded headpiece is made by Abby at Cherished again, and is called 'Cow Parsley', from her new range, launching soon.

  

Helena loves vintage wedding dresses so much, but there is of course only one of each, and only in one size, so copying the most beautiful ones seems a great solution to being able to offer the most lovely styles to more brides. Come and see them in person at our next Fair!

Fishee Designs Photo Booth

How about a vintage photo booth at your wedding? Fishee Designs Photo Booth is the most unique Photo Booth you’ll come across. They’re completely mobile and you can use their carefully selected props, outfits and photography stills to create your very own fun, timeless memories. 

  

Starting out with the Vintage Shabby Chic Booth, owner Emily Fisher handcrafted a unique backdrop to sit alongside a vintage prop box filled with vintage hats, moustache’s on sticks, old telephones, frames and much, much more. A trained graphic designer, Emily puts her trained eye to editing every single photo with a vintage border and sepia tones.

  

In 2012, Emily began to add a bit of diversity to keep things fresh. She’s a huge fan of Artists such as Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol and has always had a love for comic book graphics and their bright colours. This inspired her to set up the Retro Comic Book Booth. With Props like Superhero masks, Super-girl wigs and various comic signs on sticks, it’s a contrast to the vintage feel with a bright yellow, white spotted backdrop and offers something for those brides who want to add some vibrancy and colour to their big day. Each photo is also post-edited, to look as if the guests have been transported into a comic book of their own.

  

Emily has also recently launched the Vintage Hollywood Booth which includes props such as famous actor and actresses masks-on-sticks, feather boas, Flapper girl head wear, velvet gloves, wigs and much more with a gorgeous red velvet backdrop for brides that want a bit of red carpet, art deco glamour. Each photo edited with a unique art deco style border.
