Lily and Louie

Bristol Vintage is excited to welcome… Lily and Louie.

Lily and Louie create bespoke wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses and headdresses.

Inspired by many eras their styles tend to be vintage and often quirky, from tea-length silk dresses with fluffy, coloured petticoats, to elegant art deco inspired draped dresses.

They also make headdresses and veils to complement your look, with birdcage veils for the shorter 1950’s dresses, rose garlands for a country themed wedding and long silk tulle veils for those romantic, flowing lace dresses.

These bespoke dresses and accessories are made by designer Jayne Miller.

She's currently based in London, so you can arrange an appointment by emailing studio@lilyandlouie.com. But good news for brides in the South West! Lily and Louie will be moving to Devon before the end of 2013 and the move will give them more space to display more dresses and accessories.

Come the New Year Lily and Louie will start designing a new vintage-inspired range.
This gorgeous range will see the addition of some flowing 1930’s inspired lace dresses and a couple of shorter dresses - perfect for the more informal wedding. Samples of the new designs will be ready for display around spring 2014.

But if you can't wait, then you're in luck, because Lily and Louie will be exhibiting their stunning dresses and beautiful accessories at our next Bristol Vintage Wedding Fair in March 2014. Come and meet them and get the dress of your vintage-inspired dreams!

Gwen’s Bridal Bazaar

Come along and meet the brains behind a brand new wedding blog for all you lovely brides-to-be in Wales and the South West. Gwen’s Bridal Bazaar is dedicated to bringing you innovative, style savvy content and lashings of wedding prettiness in their daily articles.

Helen Howells, creator of the blog, says: “As a welsh lady born and raised, I’ve been a wedding guest at some truly spectacular locations in both Wales and the South West. When it came to my wedding, I scoured the area for truly talented individuals and reputable suppliers to help make my day a dream come true, and now I want to help you brides-to-be to find yours.”

At Gwen’s Bridal Bazaar they completely understand all those wedding dilemmas: “So many people are quick to tell you how it ‘should be done’, when really the weddings which amaze are those where the couple have had their day, their way. The most important people at a wedding are the two declaring their love for each other; the celebration should always reflect your personalities and include things you both adore from start to finish.”

And it’s not just brides that Gwen’s Bridal Bazaar are aiming to inspire – they have their own dedicated “Grooms Room” with some fab newlyweds and grooms contributing to the blog.

On the day of the Fair, you’ll find Helen upstairs. She’ll be on hand to chat about your wedding plans and can offer advice on how to make your day extra special and unique. She’s also going to be running a competition! To be in with a chance to win a rather lovely bridal hamper, pop up and see her on March 10th and let her know what you think the key to a happy marriage is - the winner will be chosen by Helen and notified at the end of the day.

If you’ve got something you’d like to contribute to Gwen’s Bridal Bazaar, do make sure you mention it to her on the day or email her direct at Helen@gwensbridalbazaar.com - you can also find Helen through her website and why not ask her about her Cardiff Bridal Bootfayre? Giving newlyweds the opportunity to sell on their wedding treasures to new brides-to-be, it’s a very stylish and recycling-friendly eco affair!  Helen promises us the Bootfayre will be back later this year, so make sure you keep in touch!

Need inspiration? Trends this year have included lots of buns, plaits and plenty of feathers and jewelled hair accessories. Eyeliner’s still big and fresh, dewy complexions are all the rage.  Check out the Beehive Brides gallery for more style inspiration.

If you’d like a little taste of Fiona’s all-star treatment, come and meet her in person at the Fair.  She’ll be styling our models throughout the day with beautiful vintage-style hair and make up. She’s full of tips, wonderfully artistic and can advise you on what styles will suit you so make sure you catch her for a quick chat.

If you can’t wait till March 10th and you’d like to book a consultation with Fiona, you can call her direct on 07710 415365 or send her a message through Facebook.  You can also get hold of her through her website but I warn you, you’ll be spoilt for choice if you stop by the gallery section.
