THIS SUNDAY - THE BRISTOL VINTAGE WEDDING FAIR!

We hope by now you're as excited as we are about this Sunday's Bristol Vintage Wedding Fair! We have nearly 40 stunning exhibitors waiting to meet you and there really is something for everyone! If you haven't had a chance, browse through the blog to see all our exhibitors.

We're really excited to announce that we have a gorgeous giveaway for the first 30 brides through the door - a wonderful WEDDING JOURNAL from the very talented Rachel Goodchild. It's absolutely perfect for helping you plan and keep tabs on everything for your big day - and afterwards makes a wonderful keepsake for you to look back on.

Below is a little bit of information to help you on the day:

Opening Times
The fair opens to the public at 10.30 am and doors close at 4.00 pm.

Parking and Getting to the Fair
The West Car Park (opposite the entrance to Clifton Pavilion) will have limited parking for visitors at a cost of £3. However, there is lots of on-street parking in the surrounding streets and on the Downs (a short walk away) and parking is free on Sundays.

Please note, there is a sign to say that Bridge Valley Road will be closed on Sunday from 0800-1600.

Entertainment
As usual, we're really thrilled to be having live entertainment throughout the day and very grateful to our musical exhibitors for making the day such fun. This year we're really pleased to have the fabulous Marionettes back with us, as well as Gramophone Grooves, but we'll also be welcoming Amanda Whiting on her harp and Bill Driscoll, singer guitarist. The timings for 2017 are:

CLIFTON PAVILION

The beautiful and historic Clifton Pavilion is set in the award-winning botanical gardens of Bristol Zoo, making it one of the most unique wedding venues in Bristol, if not the whole south-west.

With its high vaulted ceiling, art deco features, grand ballroom and stunning chandeliers, it really does offer a breathtaking backdrop for your wedding day.

Our exhibitors love this venue as the rooms are beautifully proportioned, the light is wonderful and it's the perfect venue to show off what they do.

The Clifton Pavilion has a licence to perform wedding ceremonies and civil partnerships so you can hold your ceremony here as well as celebrate afterwards.

SAVE THE DATE - BRISTOL VINTAGE WEDDING FAIR 2017!

I am really excited to be announcing the launch of the 2017 Bristol Vintage Wedding Fair for so many reasons!

As Zoe is now the owner of Bristol Vintage I'm really lucky to have the opportunity to organise one more fair whilst she is discovering all the wonders of the crockery world.

But even more exciting is that this year, I am organising the fair in partnership with Kirsten Butler, aka The Little Wedding Helper. Kirsten is an award winning wedding stylist and we've been friends and collaborators since the very early days of Bristol Vintage. She'll be tweeting, face booking, pinning, instagramming and generally shouting out about our fabulous exhibitors over the next few weeks and I'm really enjoying working with her on my final fair.

The wonderful Moomie Swan has, yet again, come up with the amazing artwork for this year's fair. We're holding the fair in January this year, and we gave Moomie the briefest of briefs yet she came up with this wintry-themed poster which knocked our socks off! How much more romantic can you get?

As always, the fair will be held in the stunning Clifton Pavilion, Bristol Zoo Gardens, over two floors with the best hand-picked exhibitors we can find. There's everything from original vintage and vintage-inspired dresses and accessories, one-off millinery designs, stunning photography, beautiful flowers, delicious cakes as well as fabulous entertainment and pretty much everything you can possibly think of for a vintage style wedding.

Over the next few weeks we'll be showcasing our gorgeous exhibitors on the blog so watch out for our shout-outs on the Bristol Vintage and Little Wedding Helper social media. WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY!

I want to say a massive thank you to all the fantastic exhibitors on Sunday's fair. Every year they excel themselves with their creativity and imagination. The Clifton Pavilion looked amazing - as if we'd stepped back in time into some decadent party, with stunning dresses, quirky music, fabulous millinery and jewellery, sumptuous cakes and glorious flowers. I couldn't help but be impressed!

It really was a beautiful day - it felt like the first proper day of spring, with such fantastic sunshine and I think we all had a little spring in our step to go with it!

TOMORROW'S THE DAY - COME TO THE BRISTOL VINTAGE WEDDING FAIR!

We're all really looking forward to seeing you tomorrow at the Bristol Vintage Wedding Fair. If you're new to the blog, take a look at the posts for all our amazing exhibitors - there's something for all brides and grooms to be and any vintage fans or anyone wanting a peek at our fabulous venue! With entertainment and refreshments throughout the day, we can guarantee a great day out!

The doors open at 10.30 am and close at 4.00 pm but in between we're hoping to meet some wonderful couples, families, bridesmaids and anyone who loves beautiful vintage or vintage inspired pieces!

The address is: Clifton Pavilion, Bristol Zoo Gardens BS8 3HA. There is a lot of on-street parking nearby, or on Clifton Down (about a 5 minute walk away). The parking is for anyone on a Sunday and is also free.

Some of our exhibitors don't have credit card facilities so do bring your cheque book if you have one. The closest cashpoint is in Clifton Village, a little walk away.

At the moment, the weather's looking promising so do come and enjoy the sunshine in this wonderful venue. We can't wait to get excited about your big day!

THE CLIFTON PAVILION - THE PERFECT VENUE!

When we started the fair, Katie and I talked for days about the 'perfect' venue for the fair. And, of course, by that we meant the perfect wedding venue! We had no idea that we would actually find it and continue to hold our fair there every year! But that's how we feel about the Clifton Pavilion

Our exhibitors always say "it's the BEST venue" and we can't believe just how lucky we are. The rooms are beautifully proportioned, the light is amazing and really, this venue has everything you could want. For a start, the Clifton Pavilion has a licence to perform wedding ceremonies and civil partnerships so you can hold your ceremony here as well as celebrate afterwards.

The elegant rooms are gorgeous, with sumptuous gold flock wallpaper in the Clifton Suite and the famous leopard print carpet leading into it, as well as glorious views over the zoo. Amazing chandeliers light up the room and yet it somehow feels personal and intimate! The garden room is incredibly light and airy and you have the unique added bonus of being able to have your photographs taken in the zoo gardens! The venue is run by Bristol Zoo Gardens Hospitality who take pride in supplying excellent menu options utilising fresh, locally sourced sustainable and ethical ingredients, coupled with friendly professional staff.

By holding your wedding at the Clifton Pavilion you are helping the great work of Bristol Zoo Gardens as a proportion of your wedding fee goes to the zoo assisting with conservation projects - both in the UK and overseas. You can take pride in the fact your wedding will have an ethical aspect!

Exciting news is that the Zoo we have recently opened The Lodge, a two bedroom accommodation within the grounds. They have put together an overnight stay package for bride & bridesmaids the night prior to the wedding and for the bride & groom on their wedding night.

The Clifton Pavilion will be serving refreshments on the day, so take a few minutes to sit back and relax whilst you're there. We're so looking forward to another year at this wonderful venue and we can't wait to share it with you!
