Flo-Jo Boutique

On a popular independent shopping street in Bristol you'll find a beautifully styled shop that Bristol Vintage loves...

Designing, sewing  and making all things vintage-inspired since 2004, owners Delia and Erika of Flo-Jo Boutique on Gloucester Road host brilliantly fun knicker-making and sewing parties.

The knicker-making workshops are a very popular hen party choice. Over 3 hours you'll make a pair of knickers and contribute to the making of a garter for the bride-to-be using a selection of new and vintage lace and trims, retro-style prints, buttons and bows.

Flo-Jo Boutique serve tea and cakes on vintage china and you'll finish off your party with a glass of bubbly in vintage Babycham glasses.

Groups have a really good time bonding over their making experience and it's something that mums will enjoy too. They cater for all ages and sewing experience, from total novice to fashion designers.

Flo-Jo is more than just knicker making.  They have a gorgeous selection of designer fabrics, quality haberdashery and craft gifts to inspire.  Looking for a retro fabric print?  These are your ladies!  They also offer a year round program of dressmaking and craft courses, children's sewing parties and baby showers!

So join the knicker-making revolution with Flo-Jo Boutique and make sure you visit them at our 2015 Fair on Sunday, March 8th. Delia will be bringing a selection of their wares to inspire you.  Save the date!

Flo-Jo Boutique

Join the knicker-making revolution with Flo-Jo Boutique! Designing, sewing and making all things vintage-inspired since 2004, Delia and Erika host knicker-making and sewing parties from their brand new boutique shop on Gloucester Road.

Why not book the perfect Hen Party where you’ll learn how to make a pair of knickers and a garter for the bride?  If there’s material left over, you can make bunting and add all the buttons, bows and vintage embellishments you like. Delia & Erika search high and low for their retro-inspired prints and find inspiration in vintage lace and silks, which they ‘upcycle’.

At Flo-Jo Boutique you’ll find collections of handmade undies, knicker-making kits and frilly pinnies for sale. They also run a haberdashers with carefully sourced fabrics, but the other half of the shop is a fabulous retro style 50s kitchen inspired workshop space, filled with sewing machines. Here’s where the creativity happens, alongside high tea, cake and a glass of champagne. They run regular workshops on embellishing, quilting, patchwork and dressmaking, but beginners are very welcome to the party and the knicker-making hen dos are designed with that in mind.

At the Fair, Delia will be bringing a gorgeous selection of knickers and garters to show you just what you can make using vintage silks.  She’ll have some of the Fancy Pants knicker-making kits too.  They’re a great introductory sewing project for lovers of vintage and make perfect bridesmaids and hen party gifts. Each kit includes a fully graded reusable pattern and you can choose from their range of cute cottons, frilly elastic and satin ribbons. She’ll also be bringing a party album so you can get a feel of the space and some inspiration for your own party.

Delia will be on hand at the Fair on March 10th, but why don’t you check out Flo-Jo’s website, or better yet, pop in to the shop! Flo-Jo Boutique are based at 36b Gloucester Road, Bristol BS7 8AR and you can book your party by calling 0117 904 1498.

Sheena Holland is the Original Feather Headband creator (in a pad format) and her visually stunning vintage designs have graced the pages of top fashion magazines like Vogue.  Her beautiful headbands are one-off pieces using only antique and vintage jewellery and she’s had many a celebrity client over the years.  When you buy from Sheena, you’re buying something very special indeed.

Originally a Londoner, Sheena studied fashion under designer Katharine Hamnett working on fabrics for catwalks.  Later inspired by designing large floral, wire and concrete sculptures, Sheena went on to create fabulous wedding headwear; unique distinctive pieces that stand out above the high street because each is handmade.  You can even have something completely bespoke, with prices starting at £145.

From her shop at 31 Queen Street, Derby, Sheena creates bridal tiaras and jewellery made from vintage materials using re-worked leather, antique, vintage jewellery and feathers as well as her trademark headbands and all elements combine the fashion, shapes and colours from her training with Hamnetts and in floristry.  Her shop is open Tuesdays to Saturdays, but you can also find her on Facebook and Twitter as well as her wonderful online boutique.  It’s packed with treasures and includes a written blog, but best of all, she’ll be at the Fair on 26th February, so come and meet her and see all these gorgeous items up close and for yourself.
