Inspiring Us - Marie Man Documentary & Fashion Photography

Photographer Marie Man is where photojournalism, wedding and fashion photography meets.  She'll make you look good and she'll make your dress look good too.  With a background in both documentary and fashion photography and vast experience as a photojournalist, she can capture your story like no one else.

Her signature style is informal and artistic, candid and creative.  She’s friendly, approachable and once she knows what style you want, she’ll put you at your ease so you can enjoy your day knowing that you’ll have wedding photographs that truly capture your story.  Beginning with a pre-wedding shoot for the bride and groom, you’ll be able to relax on the day while the bride and bridesmaids have their own fashion shoot and the groom and guests forget she’s even there.  She’s that good!

Available for weddings (at home and abroad), her full day wedding packages start at £1200 and gift vouchers are available to add to your wedding list.

Marie loves weddings with character and giving them a fashion-influenced editorial feel.  She’s covered Asian and oriental weddings, non-religious ceremonies, engagement and anniversaries. In fact, she’s styling an alternative vintage Tim Burton-inspired wedding shoot soon - a must see!  With Marie, you can choose to be as creative or as natural as you like and see your story retold through her images.

If you’re planning a stylish wedding, then you’re in luck because Marie has some availability left for this year, but get in touch quick. Check out her website or email her at  You can even find her on Twitter or via her blog.  Meantime, we’ll be browsing the portfolio on her website… it’s gorgeous!

Inspiring Us - Pete Cranston Photography

Pete Cranston is in the enviable position of being able to do the job he loves and he loves that job very much. After all with him, you’re not just hiring a photographer - you’re hiring someone who loves what he does and it shows. You only have to take a look at his pictures to see that.

When it comes to weddings, he’s got it spot on out go the static pose and cheesy grins and in come a collection of pictures that will make you smile when you remember the fun you had. He’ll capture your day in a style that’s both timeless and cool, so there’s nothing dated about photos that you’ll treasure, forever. Pete’s a lovely guy too, easy to talk to and happy to meet you for a cup of tea or a pint to talk about your plans and his pictures.

He offers a number of wedding packages. He doesn’t charge an hourly rate and all packages include a pre-wedding photo shoot, full wedding day coverage (from bridal preparations through to last man standing), an online gallery to share images with friends and family and a DVD with high-resolution retouched images, which you’re free to get these printed wherever you please. He also has some beautiful, bespoke albums and frames available and he photographs weddings everywhere, from the Scottish Highlands to Norway as well as the odd destination wedding.

Coming up, he’s got a wonderful humanist wedding in Wales and a bunch of pre-wedding shoots for some really interesting couples. The coming year looks set to be filled with tattooed brides and grooms, yurts, hay bales and beautiful scenery. He’s also been involved with different charities throughout Bristol providing family photo shoots for their fundraising auctions.

We at Bristol Vintage are inspired by Pete’s passion and the beauty he instills in his photos.  He really seems to capture each couple and lets their personality and joy shine whether it’s an intimate winter wedding or a two-day pirate themed extravaganza. Do check out the gorgeous photos on his website.

Next Year's Fair - 10th March 2013

Save the date...  Next year's Bristol Vintage Wedding Fair will be on 10th March 2013, so make sure you put it in your diaries as we're really looking forward to seeing you there!

We want to keep it one of the best vintage fairs on the circuit, so every year we try to make sure you get the cream of vintage suppliers.  We're limited by room however, so there are always people we want to invite, but aren't able to.   So... we thought we'd spend the next few months, whilst we're in the planning stage, to tell you about a few of the incredibly talented people out there who we haven't got space for, but we really love and want to recommend!  Hopefully, over the years, you'll come to meet them but, in the meantime, we thought we'd start off with photographers.

I have to tell you - there are some amazing people out there and we're sorry we couldn't include them all - but these are people who've really inspired us and who we'd love to recommend ...

So over to Sarah and in the next few posts, she'll tell you all about them.  Watch this space!
