Charlotte Smith for the Bride

Charlotte Smith has been designing beautiful vintage-style bridalwear for years.  She’s known for her fluid, feminine and very wearable dresses.

Currently developing her business, Bristol-based Charlotte will be bringing some of her gorgeous ready-made stock to our next Fair.  Ranging in size from 8 – 14, these handmade pieces are very versatile.  Made from beautiful silks, pure new wool or devoré they can be styled as contemporary or as vintage as you like.

It's not just dresses Charlotte designs either. On the day she'll also have several wedding outfits to include jackets and skirts, jackets and trousers and dresses with jackets.  There’ll be short as well as long slimline dresses as well as dresses with trains and dresses with and without sleeves. These outfits are perfect for civil weddings, registry office weddings and weddings abroad. Charlotte's lightweight and non-crease devoré dresses and trouser suits (with matching shawls and scarves) are a practical choice as you can fold them up in your suitcase for travelling.

On the day of the Fair, Charlotte will be on hand to talk about your wedding requirements and advise you on style and fit. She’ll have plenty of individual feminine styles for you to try on. Don't miss it!

If you would like to view any of the dresses prior to the Fair, you can call her direct on 0797685014 or email her at charlotte.smith3@blueyonder.co.uk

Britten Weddings

The Britten boutique is home to vintage-inspired bridal accessories for contemporary brides.  With a cornucopia of 1920s influenced bridal and wedding products, you’ll find everything from hair accessories and button-holes to headbands and garters.

Established in 2011, Britten creates bespoke bridal accessories distinctive in design and renowned for exceptional craftsmanship. Their collection of original, beautifully designed hair adornments, jewellery and accessories promise to make a style statement.

Inspired by the glitz of the twenties, the glamour of the thirties and forties, and the femininity of the fifties, their opulent ostrich feather fans and intricately embellished headbands are to be treasured. Each and every piece is handmade in the UK by head designer Sarah Jane Bates, who studied the art and craftsmanship of accessory design at the London College of Fashion.

Britten accessories are made to order from the quaint workshops located just outside Bath. Brides can either purchase pieces online from the current collections, or customise their chosen accessories to complement their wedding day look. For brides seeking a truly unique, one-off creation, Britten also offers a fully bespoke service providing the opportunity to work alongside the team to design the perfect, heirloom piece.

Sarah Jane will be bringing most of her Circa collection to our next Fair. Take the chance to look through the Britten website now before then as Sarah Jane is happy to bring along a few more pieces if there’s anything in particular you’d like to try on at the Fair. Until then, you can find Britten on Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest.

Miss Jones Lingerie

Set the scene for your wedding night and honeymoon with vintage-inspired luxury lingerie by Miss Jones.

French-based designer Jacqueline Jones is behind every item of the newly launched Miss Jones lingerie collection. A theatrical costumier who has styled period dramas for film and television, the collections are inspired by the luxury and sensuality of grander times – think vintage, think couture.

Jacqueline decided to set up her own label after designing wedding garters for individual clients who wanted something unique and personal to wear on the day and but also as a romantic keepsake afterwards.  Jacqueline says, “The wedding garter combines all the things I love - history, drama, romance and tradition.  It’s the most playful addition to the wedding attire; but if crafted beautifully, can also be an elegant keepsake, a family heirloom.”

With the addition of matching pasties, panties, soft bras, eye masks, and silk-tie-ups, the brand identity began to take shape and Jacqueline now has eight mini collections all designed with a luxurious wedding night or sumptuous honeymoon in mind.

“Making lingerie for the Bride’s boudoir trousseau is so special.  This is her time for sensuality.  Because after a day of being dressed up and in the spotlight; this is a time for the bride to wear something soft and luxurious, a little flirtatious. The designs mix tradition and romance with a touch of playfulness.  I think my favourite pieces from the collection are the Bridal Pasties, which are made from French lace Cherub motifs mounted onto soft leather.  I think they are so sweet and so much fun, and so unexpected.  I imagine the Bride smiling to herself as she thinks about changing into them later that evening. A truly personal moment”

You can find more Miss Jones Lingerie on her website, Facebook page, Pinterest and follow her on Twitter.  You can contact her direct on 0033 565599258 or email her at enquiries@missjoneslingerie.com but do make sure you come and meet her in person at next year’s Fair.  She’s coming over from France especially for us and has been working on a new piece to launch on the day as well as a competition!  There’ll be a sexy kimono-style gown that makes a lovely cover up if you’re not feeling quite so daring and a chance to win one of her most luxurious wedding garters, ‘Charlotte’. Come along and see these gorgeous designs for yourself. Celebrate your femininity, be confident, be sensual; be Miss Jones.
