SAVE THE DATE - BRISTOL VINTAGE WEDDING FAIR 2017!

I am really excited to be announcing the launch of the 2017 Bristol Vintage Wedding Fair for so many reasons!

As Zoe is now the owner of Bristol Vintage I'm really lucky to have the opportunity to organise one more fair whilst she is discovering all the wonders of the crockery world.  

But even more exciting is that this year, I am organising the fair in partnership with Kirsten Butler, aka The Little Wedding Helper.  Kirsten is an award winning wedding stylist and we've been friends and collaborators since the very early days of Bristol Vintage.  She'll be tweeting, face booking, pinning, instagramming and generally shouting out about our fabulous exhibitors over the next few weeks and I'm really enjoying working with her on my final fair.

The wonderful Moomie Swan has, yet again, come up with the amazing artwork for this year's fair.  We're holding the fair in January this year, and we gave Moomie the briefest of briefs yet she came up with this wintry-themed poster which knocked our socks off!  How much more romantic can you get?

As always, the fair will be held in the stunning Clifton Pavilion, Bristol Zoo Gardens, over two floors with the best hand-picked exhibitors we can find. There's everything from original vintage and vintage-inspired dresses and accessories, one-off millinery designs, stunning photography, beautiful flowers, delicious cakes as well as fabulous entertainment and pretty much everything you can possibly think of for a vintage style wedding.

THE CLIFTON PAVILION - THE PERFECT VENUE!

When we started the fair, Katie and I talked for days about the 'perfect' venue for the fair.  And, of course, by that we meant the perfect wedding venue!  We had no idea that we would actually find it and continue to hold our fair there every year!  But that's how we feel about the Clifton Pavilion

Our exhibitors always say "it's the BEST venue" and we can't believe just how lucky we are. The rooms are beautifully proportioned, the light is amazing and really, this venue has everything you could want.  For a start, the Clifton Pavilion has a licence to perform wedding ceremonies and civil partnerships  so you can hold your ceremony here as well as celebrate afterwards.

The elegant rooms are gorgeous, with sumptuous gold flock wallpaper in the Clifton Suite and the famous leopard print carpet leading into it, as well as glorious views over the zoo. Amazing chandeliers light up the room and yet it somehow feels personal and intimate!  The garden room is incredibly light and airy and you have the unique added bonus of being able to have your photographs taken in the zoo gardens!  Take a look at some of the fabulous reviews on Hitched from couples who have had their big day here.

The venue is run by Bristol Zoo Gardens Hospitality who take pride in supplying excellent menu options utilising fresh, locally sourced sustainable and ethical ingredients, coupled with friendly professional staff.  

By holding your wedding at the Clifton Pavilion you are helping the great work of Bristol Zoo Gardens as a proportion of your wedding fee goes to the zoo assisting with conservation projects - both in the UK and overseas.  You can take pride in the fact your wedding will have an ethical aspect!

Exciting news is that the Zoo we have recently opened The Lodge, a two bedroom accommodation within the grounds.  They have put together an overnight stay package for bride & bridesmaids the night prior to the wedding and for the bride & groom on their wedding night.  

The Clifton Pavilion will be serving refreshments on the day, so take a few minutes to sit back and relax whilst you're there.  We're so looking forward to another year at this wonderful venue and we can't wait to share it with you!

Chrome Occasions

On the day of the fair you’ll find something quite unusual in the Zoo car park – a fabulous 20 ft long 1959 Cadillac Sedan de Ville.   It’s finished in ivory with contrasting black & white original leather interior and you won’t quite believe it till you see it!

The 1959 Cadillac was the most flamboyant of all the models produced and has become a design icon, so if you’re looking to arrive in the ultimate style and comfort on your special day, this '59 Cadillac is the perfect car for you.  It has fours doors, for the convenience of the bride (and her dress) and not forgetting the iconic rear fins and dazzling chrome work.  Your chauffeur on the day will arrive in full uniform and all wedding packages include colour-coordinated ribbons of your choice. Fresh flower  arrangements can be supplied as an optional extra.

Based in Weston-Super-Mare, Chrome Occasions can provide their lovely car for wedding hire throughout the South West region.  For all enquiries, contact them through their website but make sure you come to the fair.  Owner Cheryl Hodges will be on hand to tell you much more, but as she feels you can’t really appreciate just how wonderful this car is until you see it in person, her partner Ed will also be there to show you round it.

We’re lucky enough to be holding our second Bristol Vintage Wedding Fair at this wonderful venue in 2012, but did you know you could hire it for your own wedding?

Available on an exclusive basis for up to 120 guests and with complimentary access to the zoo gardens, you can enjoy an incredible range of photo opportunities.  Plus, your guests are welcome to explore the zoo and see a host of animals from gorillas to penguins, complete with a soundtrack of roaring lions and the call of the gibbons.

From your first step, through to your big day, Clifton Pavilion’s events team are on hand to assist you with everything from choosing your menu, wine and flowers to your entertainment and table plan. They use the finest locally sourced, sustainable and ethical ingredients to deliver a diverse range of menu options all created by their experienced chefs. Their functions team is professional, helpful and on hand to ensure your day is delivered perfectly, leaving you to relax and enjoy.  

It’s truly a unique setting, so come along to the Fair on 26^th February and take a look for yourself.  Entrance to the wedding fair doesn’t include free entry to the Zoo on the day, but there’s so much else to see and do, you won’t have a minute to spare.
