With 35 years' experience in understanding the bride's desire to be her best self and to express that in their own way, Lisa makes the wedding dress work for them, NOT the bride work out for the dress!

This is where the dress is designed and made for each individual bride.  It's a completely different experience from entering a bridal shop and selecting a gown that's mass-produced and 'off the peg'.  It's a personal experience, where the gown starts with a conversation, enters into the design process and Lisa works through every stage with you, the bride to create a gown that will make you feel confident, beautiful, spoiled and 'loved'!

Combining her commercial design background, in-depth pattern-making and garment construction knowledge, Lisa works with your vision, vintage inspiration and love and passion for beautiful fabrics to create truly stunning, modern wedding dresses and bridal wear. She brings creativity, intelligence and versatility to her collections, knowing that carefully crafted and interchangeable elements will work for every woman, whatever shape or size.

Graduating with a BA Honors in Fashion Design in 1989 at the University of Bristol, Lisa went on to gain a post-graduate certificate in Fashion Illustration, then specialising in Corsetry, feeding her obsession with fit, the female form and embellishment.  This knowledge and experience, combined with Lisa's skills as an Atelier, give her an unparalleled ability to design and create breath-taking wedding gowns.

Lisa is proud to divide her time between creating beautiful gowns and passing on her skills and knowledge in teaching Fashion Degree students in South-West universities as well as running workshops and masterclasses.

Lisa will have a beautiful array of her garments for you to fall in love with at the fair and all her items are created in Bristol, England.

A NEW CHAPTER...

Hello from me!  I'm Zoe, the proud new owner of Bristol Vintage. I've taken over the reins from the gorgeous Ali and I'm determined to do her proud.

A little about me...
I'm hugely enthusiastic about a lot of things, but one of my real passions is running. I'm not too fussy about where or for how long, however I am partial to a run in the dark around the illuminated Bristol harbour side.  I love the feeling of freedom it gives me, not to mention the hour or so away from the craziness of my house and two little girls. I also do a little running coaching for people who are keen to start but need a little guidance .... come run with me!

I LOVE to eat, pretty much anything, although my favs are Thai food and cakes. Not together. Unfortunately I'm not the best cook in the world, but luckily that gives me an excuse to eat out a lot.

I'm slightly obsessed with beautiful architecture of all genres, although I have to admit modern boxes leave me feeling a little cold.

I love a cocktail – something sour and cold, I only hope that my choice of cocktail isn't a reflection of my personality!

So... why did I choose Bristol Vintage?  Well, for a start the stock is really rather special. Each cup and saucer has been painstakingly hand selected and it really shows.  The collection is obviously a labour of love and this really translates into something exceptional and totally unique, how could I resist?   On top of that, I really love a wedding.  I'm at the age now where most people I know are either married or they've decided that it's not for them, so I'm experiencing severe wedding drought.  I love the sense of occasion and excitement that comes with any major milestone in life, so to be a part of your special Bristol Vintage is a real honour, and something that I truly relish.

Over the last few weeks I've been slowly unwrapping box after box of gorgeous things, getting a sense of what Bristol Vintage means to me.   The good news for you is that I plan to continue Ali's ethos of personal and friendly service, so you won't see any changes on that front. I'm really excited to share our treasures with you over the coming months, we've lots of new projects already in development so stayed tuned for what lies ahead.

Wish me luck!

LE SOULIER - BEAUTIFUL SHOES TO WEAR & KEEP FOREVER

I'm very excited that Le Soulier will be exhibiting with us in Bristol!  Her shoes are literally a work of art to wear on your wedding day and have forever as a keepsake of your day.

I came across Le Soulier whilst scouring the web and wedding magazines looking for new and unusual suppliers who I felt would appeal to the brides who attend our fair. When I felt my heart beating a little faster I knew I'd found something really special.

Sonia, an innovative shoe designer who graduated from the University of Reading with a degree in Footwear Design and Construction, honed her skills designing for many well known high street brands.  Being such a creative soul she formed her own company 'Sole Creations' working with top designers, transforming their bridal collections.

Sonia's philosophy is to make wedding shoes that stand out from the crowd by adding personality and creating a style statement.  Her shoes are works of art that are totally personal to you.

Dealing with clients all over the world, Sonia's service couldn't be more simple.  You buy your own shoes, ensuring a perfect, comfy fit.  Sonia can create hand painted designs on almost any surface (silk, leather, synthetic) with the exception of patent or gloss and, as long as there is enough surface area for your desired design, then any style, colour or heel height will work.

You can email or call Sonia to discuss a colour scheme and overall look to complement your dress and flowers and you can post or email swatches and samples. Nothing is impossible create, from flowers, tartans & bows through to your married name and more, - the choice is endless.

Once you've both decided on the final unique look, Sonia does her magic and transforms your plain, dull shoes into your very own personal work of art.

No two pairs are the same and if you're wondering where to start, take a look at the Le Soulier Brides page or at her gallery

I'm already planning my ideas for a pair of Sonia's shoes for my 20th wedding anniversary  and I know I'll be joining the scores of happy customers on her site.

Sonia's unique creations are beautifully hand-painted with love and care and are something you will be able to cherish for a lifetime as part of your wedding day.

Sonia herself can't be with us on the day but several of her gorgeous pairs of shoes will be to get your creative juices flowing!
