WITH LOVE FROM BOBBIN - BESPOKE BRIDAL ACCESSORIES

With Love from Bobbin is the home of bespoke bridal accessories.

From signature headpieces to custom made belts, each piece is lovingly handcrafted by designer, Ashley McMath, in Wales.

Think antique lace, vintage trims, beads and feathers…

…and you'll have an idea of these totally romantic bridal accessories.

A consultation with Ashley is by appointment only at the quirky Little Wedding Emporium, based in the Castle Arcade, Cardiff, but you can meet her in person this Sunday, 21st September at The Daffodil. She'll have some beautiful bespoke accessories with her and plenty of advice on how to achieve the perfect vintage-inspired look for your wedding day.

Find out more on the website or follow Ashley on Twitter and Facebook, but make sure you come to our next Bristol Vintage Wedding Fair - it's not to be missed!

LISA VON HALLWYL MILLINERY - TURNING HEADS WITH STUNNING DESIGNS

I've always been a massive fan of hats and I don't know many women who aren't.  However, most of us don't get the opportunity to wear them in our day to day lives.   But a wedding is the PERFECT opportunity and if you're looking for that special finishing touch to complete your outfit then you need to meet Lisa Von Hallwyl.

Lisa creates bespoke designs and can literally make any shape or style.  All her pieces are style statements and she has an incredible number of different designs.  But, not only that, you can even design the hat yourself and match the colour to exactly fit your outfit!

Taking the stress out of choosing the perfect accompaniment to your outfit is Lisa's aim.  She works closely with her clients, starting with an initial consultation to discuss your vision - identifying the perfect design, style & colour through sketches and trying on different hats.  Lisa even takes into consideration your face shape, height and size and, as every piece of the finished item is hand made your hat will be totally individual to you.

The final fitting and measurement service ensures the end result is a unique bespoke piece of artwork, designed to complement your perfectly.

But Lisa's headwear isn't just for the Mother of the Bride and guests, she also does a stunning range of bridal pieces including intricately embellished lace veils, beautifully constructed tiaras and delicate fascinators.

Lisa's hats regularly appear in the press, featuring in Tatler, the Telegraph & The Mirror, to name just a few, and they are a massive favourite with the racing crowd - always at the forefront of millinery wear.  Lisa's also a regular on BBC Radio Gloucestershire

If, like me, you don't really need an excuse to wear a hat, Lisa also does a fabulous daywear collection  All her hats are available to hire as well as to buy (although you really won't want to give them back!)

If you can't find me at the fair I can pretty much guarantee this is where I'll be loitering ... mooning over Lisa's glorious designs!

Vintage Baker Finds - The Styling Lounge

Every so often I find a vintage supplier who's so good I have to share. So while they might not always strictly be 'Bristol' based, they certainly get the Bristol Vintage & Vintage Baker Finds seal of approval.

This week is all about The Styling Lounge.

The Styling Lounge is home to Creative Director and super stylist, Amelia Shorter.

With Amelia, it's vintage-chic VIP treatment all the way. She gives every style her own creative twist whether it's on-trend braiding and plaits, the classy low chignon, half-updos, retro pin curls or soft, romantic waves with real flower accessories.

For Amelia, it's all about getting to know you. From the moment you sit down and share your wedding theme, dress design and vision, you'll have a completely personal service. Once you've talked over your ideas and gone through pictures, it's on to trying out some of the styles to see which suits you best.

On the day, Amelia stays with you until you're dressed and ready to go, just in case there are any last minute hair issues or finishing touches required.

So for vintage-chic VIP treatment, book your consultation at The Styling Lounge. You can check out more styles on the website, on Facebook or follow Amelia on Twitter for hair tips and special offers.

See you soon for more Vintage Baker Finds!

When Sarah Baker isn't writing children's books she writes features for Vintage Life Magazine and Pretty Nostalgic. You can find her on Twitter @bysarahbaker or follow her on Pinterest.
