ATELIER 19 - THE INCREDIBLE ONE STOP WEDDING SHOP

Atelier 19 is a  vintage inspired concept boutique and atelier, the creation of award winning designer, Jan Knibbs, working with a collective of hand picked bridal and special occasion designers, alongside a curated eclectic creative mix of old and new curios, including French brocante finds.

Jan is a multi award winning designer, specialising in couture embroidery who makes one-off individual garments and accessories, perfect for special occasions, especially vintage, fairytale and bohemian weddings.

In 2001 Jan won the embroidery category in the British Bridal Awards and has also won the Swarovski Prize and come second twice in the international prestigious Hand and Lock Prize for embroidery.

Noticing there was a gap in the market for brides looking for a more personal wedding experience, Jan dreamt of opening a shop to cater for all their needs as well as appealing to those looking for a unique garment or accessory and appealing to anyone with a love of beautiful, individual items.

Finding a lovely building in The Suffolks in the heart of Cheltenham's chic, bohemian Montpelier district, Jan brought her dream to life and opened Atelier 19 in the Spring of 2016.

I met Jan 'on-line' when I kept seeing stunning fairytale photo shoots with the most amazing fairytale styling, exquisite dresses and accessories.

Every time I saw one I realised Jan was behind these and, once I'd got in touch it was obvious I was going to love everything she designed!

Jan's designs are perfect for vintage, fantasy themed or boho weddings and she loves getting involved in the overall styling of your special day to ensure everything is perfectly co-ordinated.

With her designer's eye, Jan has hand picked a collective of like-minded designers.

Atelier 19 is packed with enchanting dresses, exquisite accessories and everything the bridal party could wish for, including bridal wear, outfits for guests and mother of the bride, as well as charming flower girl dresses.

Alongside the fabulous array of dresses, coats, millinery, original vintage dresses, antique lace and other accessories, there is an ever-changing curated eclectic mix of old and new curios, French antique brocante finds and handmade gifts by a selected group of artists, artisans and craft practitioners.

Other members of the Collective include Philippa Couture, a previous British Bridal Awards winner, who makes beautiful tailored dresses, coats and suits, perfect for the mother of the bride.

The lovely Gemma Sangwine, a regular past exhibitor at the Wedding Fair is also part of the Collective.

She creates incredible hair pieces and tiaras incorporating vintage brooches.

Gemma's collection includes tiaras, bespoke bridal fascinators, antique lace and jewellery and hats made with vintage fabrics.

Gemma is the winner of the Three Counties Wedding Awards for Best Bridal Millinery 2016.

BE by Little Wings make delightful flower girl dresses from vintage fabric and antique christening robes.

With all these incredibly talented people under one roof you can get everything you need for your wedding including all the finishing touches, which is what they do best!

Atelier 19 can also cater for small hen parties in the shop, including vintage teas, makeovers and workshops and will soon be adding a dressing up/vintage party hire section in the basement, for which there's enormous demand!

As if all this loveliness weren't enough, Jan can also offer hen party weekends in her luxury self-catering accommodation, Cedars House in the Wye Valley.

It's the perfect slice of vintage heaven, ideal for vintage or themed tea parties, murder mysteries or cosy dinners.  You can either 'do it yourself' or Jan can organise tea parties, vintage makeovers, photo shoots and craft workshops, all tailored to your exact requirements.

Atelier 19 is not to be missed but, beware, once you're inside the doors you won't be able to resist!
